Even Photographers get time off for good behaviour. And when we do, we normally take our cameras, and far too much equipment out with us.
I know for one I do....
So on my travels I have taken a few images to remind myself of a time and place, which lends itself to a good picture.
As you can see the highlands of Scotland are one of my personal favourites. But as time and unfortunately work allows, I will be adding more to this section.

This is one of the 5 locks at Fort Augustus, on the Caledonian Canal. It looks so peaceful there, but 5 hours before we were pulling our boat through the sodding thing, with dozens of tourists watching in 30 Degree heat!
Kytra Lock on the Caledonian Canal, Inverness, Scotland
This isn't what you expect to see when you're eating your Corn Flakes on deck in the morning! I mean that literally. Fort Augustus.
The only way to appreciate the sheer size and beauty of Loch Ness, is to see it from a boat. Even in summer, as this was, it looks wild and moody. It takes 4 and a half hours to cross, and not one sight of the Monster!
Cullochy Lock, Inverness, Scotland. One of the many Locks you go through on passage in the Caledonian Canal.
Fort Augustus at Midnight. Apart from the man-eating midge, this is a fantastic place to sit after a heavy night in the local pubs.
The "Great Glen Water Park". One of the most picuresque parts of the Caledonian Canal.
Irritating little blighters, they're great at tapping on the hull of a boat and waking you up in the morning, wanting fed !
A view into Loch Oich.
Loch Ness like a Millpond. Its easy to believe the Loch is 0.5 miles deep at this point.
Urquart Castle, Loch Ness. The castle was originally a Pictish fort, circa 1297 from the time of Alexander II. It has been the site of many a bloody battle, from the Jacobite's, the English, and even in latter days the McDonald's. It still bears the scars of the explosion that ruined it in 1689, and after that it was a quarry for locals, for construction work etc. Which explains the poor state of repair.
One of the many sailing boats on Loch Oich.
